MILLA takes on Nashville!

I first visited Nashville in 2022 when I was fifteen years old and instantly fell in love with it. Getting to play at the Blue Bird felt surreal as I knew that many of my favorite artists had played there. I had a blast with my friends, cheering them on as they played and watching them do the same for me - I felt the real Nashville community. A place where everyone supports each other, collaborates, and connects through music. As we walked down Broadway, ate Hattie B’s, toured the Opry, walked the city streets, toured Belmont University, and played at Tin Roof and Blue Bird Cafe, I knew that I was going to do everything I possibly could to move to Nashville and attend Belmont. Throughout those two years, I had lots of ups and downs with my identity and music, but as of August 15th, 2024, I am officially a Nashvillian.

Here are some of the awesome things I’ve been doing:

In the first week of getting here, I moved into my dorm (hectic!!) and made it my new home. I met my amazing roommate, Chloe - btw I’m so glad I don’t have roommate horror stories. (advice - find someone on Instagram or anyone, just not a random roommate!)

Labor Day weekend and it was my 18th birthday! We hiked, ate cake, and went out on the town. My roommate surprised me with all our friends, balloons, and dessert - it was my first birthday without family and they made it so very special ♥.

We went on a hike to Rutledge Falls (if any of you watched Hannah Montana you would know it from the waterfall scene) It is now one of my favorite places that I’ve visited.

I’ve been writing so much new music; collaborating with my classmates and other people on campus (so new music soon!!) I’ve also been performing at writer’s rounds; showcasing my original music. My friends and I have been attending many shows and going to see live music - a big one for me was seeing Faye Webster at the Ryman.

My classes have been amazing, it feels like i’m already working instead of being in school - learning about the music business and performing my songs for my classmates.

Nashville has welcomed me with open arms and I’m so lucky to have met people who are as passionate about music as I am and who spread love and positivity. Stay tuned to hear more about my life here in Nashville!

bye for now ♥
